Since 2011

Our story

A family from Aix-en-Provence that has been selecting, since 2011, six honeys harvested in Provence by partner beekeepers.

Who we are

Selectors, not a factory

Miellerie de Provence was founded in 2011 in Aix-en-Provence, in a family that has always talked about beehives.

We do not produce honey ourselves. Every year, we taste the harvests of Provençal beekeepers we know, and we choose six honeys, not one more: lavender, thyme, garrigue, chestnut, mountain and forest.

If a year yields nothing, the honey is missing rather than replaced by honey from elsewhere.

Our standards

What we ask of our partner beekeepers

In return, we give them a regular outlet, a fair price and a showcase worthy of their work.

  • Hives set in Provence

Honeys harvested on the spot, on the plateaus, hills and massifs of Provence.

  • Cold extraction

Harvested when ripe, never heated, never pasteurised: the honey keeps its aromas.

  • No blending

Never any imported honey, never any added sugar. One jar, one harvest, one terroir.

  • Tasted at every harvest

We taste every honey before choosing it. A disappointing honey is simply not offered that year.

The jar

Why 300 g, and why this jar

A characterful honey is savoured, not consumed by the kilo. 300 g is a month of breakfasts, and the right size to discover a terroir, to give, and to come back for.

The simple black jar was designed for tables that love Provence without the clichés.
