Which honey to give as a gift: our guide

A jar of characterful honey is a gift that pleases everyone, keeps for years and tells the story of a place. Here is how to choose the right honey for the person, the occasion and the budget, from €13 for a jar to €75 for The Complete Collection.

Choosing for the person

  • For someone who likes gentle flavours, or for a family with children: Lavender Honey. Floral and creamy, it is the breakfast honey and the one everyone agrees on.
  • For a lover of bold flavours, who enjoys strong coffee and dark chocolate: Chestnut Honey or Forest Honey, dark, woody and powerful.
  • For someone who looks after themselves, with herbal teas, a tender throat, winter evenings: Thyme Honey, the best known of all honeys for the throat.
  • For a cook: Garrigue Honey (the garrigue is the wild Mediterranean scrubland), which holds up to cooking and goes well with poultry, goat’s cheese and roast vegetables.
  • For someone who loves Provence without knowing it inside out: the Discovery Box, with lavender, thyme and garrigue, the most representative trio.
  • For the curious or the gourmet: The Complete Collection, all six honeys to taste from the lightest to the darkest.

Choosing for the occasion

Christmas and the festive season: the Lavender & Thyme Duo or the Discovery Box, to slip under the tree or to bring to a dinner host. Birthdays, thank-yous, hostess gifts: a single 300 g jar is enough, chosen for the person. Mother’s Day, Father’s Day: the Duo, one gentle honey and one with character. Corporate gifts for clients, teams and hotels: The Complete Collection or gift boxes in quantity, with a personalised card; write to us via the contact page for multiple deliveries.

Why honey harvested in Provence rather than supermarket honey?

Because a gift should stand out. Our honeys are harvested in Provence by partner beekeepers, cold-extracted and never pasteurised: they keep their aroma and texture, and each terroir has its own character. The understated black 300 g jar sits well on a festive table without looking folksy. And honey keeps for years: there is no wrong time to give it.

How we send a gift

The jars are packed snugly in a protective parcel and dispatched from Aix-en-Provence within 2 to 3 working days. You can have the parcel delivered straight to the recipient: enter their address as the delivery address and write ‘gift’ in the order notes; we remove the invoice from the parcel and send it to you by email. Delivery is free in France from €50.

Frequently asked questions

How long does a jar of honey given as a gift keep?

Several years at room temperature, away from light. Crystallisation is natural and makes no difference to quality.

Can I add a personal message?

Yes: write your message in the order notes and we will copy it onto a card slipped into the parcel.

Do you offer quantities for companies?

Yes. For ten gift boxes or more, or for a card printed in your colours, contact us: we will prepare a quote and handle multiple deliveries.

Which honey to give someone who does not like honey?

Garrigue or Chestnut Honey, used in cooking: over warm goat’s cheese or in a marinade, they often win over people who find honey ‘too sweet’.
